CASINO EMPLOYEES UNION REPS RALLY FOR CONTRACTS

ATLANTIC CITY---Dozens of casino employees and union representatives rallied in Atlantic City Thursday for contracts!While the United Auto Workers Union has lost three representation elections in Atlantic City they have won six this year. So why are they still rallying?In their continued effort to organize employees at all Atlantic City casinos representatives from the U. A. W hit the streets Thursday to show their support for Bally's workers chanting. "What do we want?" "Contracts!" "When do we want them?" "Now!""It's not necessary to take it any further," explains James Moore the National Representative for the U. A. W.. "let's end this and let's get to the table and accept us now."Thursday's rally comes after the National Labor Relations Board rejected challenges submitted by Bally's Casino after a union organizing win at the property. Alfred Welenc a Dealer at the Tropicana said. "We're gonna be in this fight til the end!""It's almost an abusive affect," said Ed Little a go Plaza Dealer. "really I mean they're just delaying the inevitable."So far union supporters have won six representation elections in Atlantic City this year. The most recent announced Thursday where 90 percent of the schedule technicians at the Tropicana voted to join the union. Two candidates for election say Bally's negotiation stalling hits domiciliate for them both having been members of unions themselves," Joe Wilkins a second district Assemblyman candidate says. "The election's over folks undergo chosen the union to be them and it's measure that management accept that and sit down at the bargaining table and get this thing behind them."And Assemblyman Nelson Albano said. "It's a "win/win" situation for both the casino and the workers and we're just asking them to do what's alter sit down at the table let's start bargaining and get things on the road."Casino workers and union officials say they will act to collect until management sits down to negotiate. Meanwhile. Bally's Casino issued a statement to NBC-40 saying. "We feel that the decision rendered is incorrect and we will appeal this decision to the National fight Relations come in in Washington D. C.
