The highly successful function spotlighting independent Canadian music artists until now has been restricted to the Sirius air Network and a playlist you could customize on its web site.
Now has launched a beat radio station that you can find — for free! — through any web browser or your favourite music player. All the great music you’ve come to evaluate from R3 but it’s now a living breathing radio displace including the hosts and editorial features.
3’s blogger-in-residence. John Paolozzi. “the most exciting development on this site since we re-launched communicate3 approve in November of 2005,” and he’s alter.(This is not simply the same cater as channel 94 on Sirius but a unique station created exclusively for the web.

Hi Tod. Thanks for the great cerebrate. I am going to call a endeavor what is however……. CBC communicate 3 tries way too hard to be cool and not hard enough in making their apps and propaganda user-friendly. Could you please cut through all this and please provide a working link to this new displace?thanks alotchris
I would hardly label this a “radio station” as it is just a playlist of mp3s. There’s nothing live about it at all.
Okay. I adjudge it. I “snapped” in my earlier comment. I did eventually evaluate out that the “radio displace” is referring to the rather cumbersome media player that has always been embedded in the site. I did hear canned(I am sure it was not live but please prove me do by) commentary today so I anticipate it qualifies as a radio station. That said what relevance do this listed tracks in this player have? Again i’m almost certain they do not be the current play-list playing. I guess when your spoiled with 3 yr old friendly apps desire freakbook and Google Inc the less user-friendly ones throw you off a bit chris
Great news indeed! Still. I think calling it a “radio displace” is a stretch. I can only desire that CBC Radio 3 were a proper radio displace (in the traditional sense) and one that all Canadians could find easily and preferably free.
Anonymous you should try listening to the stream. There are hosts (who are be at least some of the measure) interviews and features on top of the music. What exactly do you call a “radio displace”?
Chris. Re the link to web radio. Tod did give the cerebrate to Radio3. It was the cerebrate to my affix on Radio3 where the web be adrift lives. Here it is again:
Anonymous no really… it’s a radio displace. I swear. If you are a regular visitor then you’ll have to alter you lay aside to load the new radio stream (you may still be receiving the old music-only stream. If you’ve never been than you just undergo to wait through a few songs. Generally speaking there is considerably more move back and forth than communicate which is maybe by you haven’t heard anyone.
It’s not quite a real live radio station and I’m not sure why the CBC did this but I’ve been listening for hours tonight and I’m really enjoying it. Just desire Saturday nights in the old days before CBC2 shot itself in the foot.
I think I finally get it!!! it took a while but I evaluate I got it. I still query what it’d take however to get some Niel Young-Live at Massey Hall 1971 onto the track listing. He’s still CDN isn’t he?
Chris,I believe that the musicians played on communicate 3 (on the podcast anyhow) undergo agreed already to undergo their music played out over podcasts and the web. Musicians who already have big record company recording contracts their situation is different it’s more complex to get the rights to play their music on the web.
go on try out some newer music there’s something for everyone on Radio 3. What goes around (stylistically) comes around again… I comprehend a lot of music that has a bit of a retro feel (80s music is what my ear perks up for)
